Steakhouse salad pizza

Not a recipe as much as just a serendipitous combination of ingredients (one that I will definitely be making again): slow roasted tomatoes, leftover steak sliced very thinly, a few slivers of red onion, some Gorgonzola, and a drizzle of olive oil. Topped with some fresh arugula after it comes out of the oven, and it’s all the flavors of a steak house salad. Yum!

For the tomatoes, I used the same method as in this post, and the steak was made using my absolute, all time favorite Jacques Pepin recipe and method for steak. If you are not a fan of blue cheese, I would suggest feta as an alternative. My arugula–from this weekend’s farmer’s market–was on the large side, so it perhaps was not as “pretty” as the baby arugula a fancy pants restaurant would use, but it was darn tasty anyway.

Pizzas are a great way to use up leftovers, too. What’s your favorite homemade pizza topping combo?
